Fifteen and Counting

Today's links are brought to you by the Question of the Day...Federer or Woods?

Vote! I have a few time already and I think that this is a tough one to pick in both leagues. In the AL it is between Kinsler, Pena, and Inge and in the NL it is a coin flip between Kemp, Victorino, Reynolds, and Sandoval. My votes went to Kinsler, the big snub in the AL (which the fan vote played a big part in) and Kung-Fu Panda(Sandoval, nick-name courtesy of Barry Zito).

It turns out that John Henry is not that self-centered after all. Then again, I think the only person in the world who believes that a bobblehead of themselves would be an appropriate gift to wedding guests is her. Side note, never search for links to images of her while at work...most are NSFW.

Time for another midseason Oakland firesale…wait, what? I think this is just a move to fill the gap for when Matt Holliday is traded. However, Holliday's stats are not that great, and the trade off that Bill Beane has to remember is this...Is it better to get a few prospects now, or take the 2 draft picks that he will get when the A's decide not to resign him in the off-season?

Echoing a point made by a Giants fan I was talking to on the 4th, a 1st Baseman or a Corner Outfielder are the places where an impact bat would make the most sense as those are the weakspots on the current NL Wild Card leading team. Adam LaRoche certainly fits that need. However I think most people in SF are dreaming about an Adam Dunn or Nick Johnson type. Also, Brian Sabean has made it clear that the bat they do acquire will not require a “Bumgarner-plus” deal.

Reality Show Update. I like the idea of the show, and throwing overhand is not new to kids growing up in a cricket obsessed country. I'm not sure how much of a success it will be the first time around, but there are almost 7 Billion people in the world. There has to be untapped talent somewhere.
